Troy:You know what I do to remember the stars? I connect them to things I know. Like, white dwarfs are small stars, right? So I think of dwarves. Or midgets.

Abed:That's offensive.

Troy:It works though!

Troy:A black hole? No wait... a really angry sun.

Pierce:A black hole is so dense, not even light can escape its gravitational pull.

Pierce:Kind of like my pants after Thanksgiving.

Troy:Ha! He said 'duty'.

Jeff:You know, it's fascinating watching you two regress. It's like witnessing evolution in reverse.

Pierce:Oh, that's rich coming from you!

Troy:Yeah, you're one to talk, you old fossil!

Pierce:Fossil? At least I don't need a nightlight to sleep!

Troy:I do NOT need a nightlight!

Dean Pelton:I've been observing your little study group, and I have to say, it's a beautiful tapestry of diversity. We have a black student, an Asian student, a woman, an old man, a young man, and... well, I'm not entirely sure what you are, but you're definitely something.

Dean Pelton:You know, I've always been proud of Greendale's commitment to diversity.

Pierce:Oh yeah? Well, I don't care what you think, buddy. Now get out of my way.

Dean Pelton:I'm the Dean.

Pierce:I don't care if you're the King of England!

Dean Pelton:I'm like a majestic eagle, soaring through the halls of Greendale, surveying my domain from on high. Except the eagle is me, the domain is a community college, and I'm actually just walking around looking for Pierce to tell him his comment really hurt my feelings.

Dean Pelton:Did you know Greendale has a football team?

Troy:A football? Like, just one?

Troy:So what's the name of our football team anyway?

Dean:The Greendale Human Beings.

Troy:The Human Beings? That's the worst team name I've ever heard.

Dean:It's inclusive! And I'm very proud of it.

Dean Pelton:Well, we realized 'Grizzlies' was sending the wrong message. It implies we're something we're not. We're not actually bears. We're human beings.

Dean Pelton:So the new mascot better represents who we are as a school — regular, ordinary human beings. Nothing special about us. Just... humans.

Pierce:Well, I've got experience. I was a mascot back in '73. Plus, I'm Y2K compliant. I've got a bunker, freeze-dried food, and I know how to hot-wire a car.

Jeff:Troy loves football, he's been talking about it since we got here.

Pierce:You know what? You're like Yoko Ono.

Jeff:What?

Pierce:You're breaking up the group. Just like Yoko broke up the Beatles by trying to speak for John.

Pierce:You should play football, Troy. You've got the build for it. And the speed. You'd be like a beautiful Black gazelle.

Troy:Thanks, Pierce.

Pierce:Yeah, that's totally tight, homie. You'd be all up in there, gettin' jiggy with it on the field.

Troy:I wouldn't touch that football team with a 10-foot pole.

Abed:You literally play football.

Troy:I know what I said.

Jeff:You know what it would take to get Troy to play football? A football scholarship, a time machine, and a complete personality transplant. Basically, everything that makes Troy, Troy would have to stop existing.

Dean Pelton:The field is always open figuratively.

Dean Pelton:But the pathetic reality of their field usage is that it's never actually used.

Annie:Do you want to go to the bathroom?

Britta:I don't have to go to the bathroom.

Jeff:Annie asked Britta to come because... well, you know, it's like that '90s stand-up thing where the comedian goes, 'What's the deal with airline food?' Except instead of that, it's 'What's the deal with my life being a complete mess?'

Jeff:Britta, maybe you should try some more feminine activities.

Britta:Like what?

Pierce:Well, you could start by letting me teach you about being a woman.

Abed:You guys are like a procedural drama. You have chemistry, unresolved tension, and you'll never actually get together because the network's afraid it'll kill the ratings.

Abed:You know what's weird about our group? We're basically characters in a sitcom.

Jeff:What are you talking about? We're real people living real lives.

Abed:Are we though? Think about it. We always hang out in the same places, we have quirky traits, and somehow everything resolves in 22 minutes.

Jeff:That's insane. I am not a character. I'm a fully realized human being with depth and complexity.

Abed:Sure, Jeff. The guy who constantly makes pop culture references and never actually grows as a person.

Jeff:I don't appreciate being reduced to a trope. This is exactly the kind of reductive thinking that ruins TV!

Jeff:Abed, your constant meta-commentary is getting out of hand. We get it—you know we're in a TV show.

Abed:You're right. I apologize. I'll stop pointing out narrative conventions, foreshadowing, and how our adventures always resolve in 22 minutes. I promise to dial it back.

Jeff:Thank you.

Abed:Although, statistically speaking, by next week I'll have forgotten this conversation entirely due to the show's reset button.

Jeff:Looking at what appears to be a trophy case, the 'trophy' is just a customer appreciation award from a trophy store.

Troy:What about a Snickers bar? I mean, it's got peanuts, so it's basically a protein bar. That's space-appropriate.

Jeff:Oh my God. Oh my God, no. No, no, no, no, no.

Jeff:They put my face on these? On the school? Is this... is this permanent?

Jeff:This is a nightmare. A actual nightmare. I can't be associated with Greendale like this.

Jeff:You know, it's really disrespectful when students have their phones on in class. Shows a lack of respect for the learning environment.

Jeff:I mean, come on, it's not that hard to turn it off for an hour.

Jeff:*phone buzzes* Oh, that's just... *checks phone frantically* ...that's important.

Jeff:Does anyone have a pen I could borrow?

Jeff:Of course no one's going to lend me a pen. I'm too handsome. They're all intimidated by my confidence and my perfectly styled hair. Why would they help someone who clearly doesn't need help? I should probably just steal one from the professor's desk later.

Shirley:So this guy in the parking lot tells me I'm parked in his spot, and I say 'No, I've been here for twenty minutes.'

Britta:Well, maybe he was circling looking for a spot the whole time.

Shirley:Britta, he just got there!

Britta:You don't know that. Parking is stressful.

Shirley:Why do you always do this?

Britta:I am a woman. I must wear makeup and heels to be valuable. Beep boop. My worth is determined by my appearance. Beep boop.

Britta:Makeup is just a patriarchal construct designed to make women feel insecure about their natural appearance. It's objectifying and completely unnecessary.

Britta:I would never wear that much makeup. It's ridiculous.

Britta:What? I'm not wearing makeup. This is just... my skin looks like this naturally.

Dean Pelton:Well, the genitals are... anatomically correct. Which is either very brave or very, very stupid.

Pierce:What about a Native American? They love mascots.

Jeff:So... you two are designing a mascot together?

Dean:Yes! We're creating something truly special for Greendale.

Pierce:It's going to be magnificent!

Jeff:I can see that. It's a guy with a giant head wearing a feather boa.

Pierce:You know Jeff, you have great hair. It's so silky.

Pierce:Mind if I touch it?

Jeff:Uh, yeah, actually I do mind.

Pierce:Too late.

Pierce:Oh my God! You're going bald!

Dean Pelton:Well Jeff, I'd offer you our legal team to review those materials, but I'm afraid they're all busy defending the college against your previous recommendations.

Dean Pelton:Jeff has this strange influence over Troy. It's like he can make him do anything. Watch this. Troy, do the MC Hammer dance.

Troy Barnes:U can't touch this.

Dean Pelton:Okay, let me think of some legitimate law firms... uh... Legal... Eagles? No, that's a movie. How about... Law & Order? That's a TV show. Um... Attorneys at... Home? No, that's a store.

Jeff:Are you trying to blackmail me?

Pierce:Yeah, I made some improvements.

Abed:You mean the sick turfed rails? That was totally flibberflorp.

Troy:Those guys make a football team look like a group of guys standing around.

Britta:Hey Shirley, you can use my bathroom anytime you need to. I know it might be hard for you.

Shirley:Hard for me? Britta, I have a bathroom. I have several bathrooms. What I don't have is the patience for your condescending BS.

Shirley:And another thing - when you're in the bathroom, you need to courtesy flush. That means you flush while you're still going, so nobody has to hear your business.

Shirley:It's called being considerate. Number two shouldn't sound like a number two.

Shirley:Britta needs to pee alone.

Britta:I'm not allowed to pee with anyone around? What is this, solitary confinement? I'm basically in prison. I'm basically a prisoner of war. They're going to waterboard me next!

Annie:Why don't women like me? I'm fun, I'm smart, I'm a catch!

Britta:Maybe it's because you're always talking about yourself.

Annie:That's not true. Like, when I was in third grade, I developed early, and the other girls were really jealous of my—

Troy:Yo, yo, yo, check it out...

Annie:Well, Troy, while your rhythmic cadence showed promise, your lyrical content lacked substantive thematic coherence. Your metaphors were derivative, and your use of internal rhyme schemes felt forced. Additionally, your breath control needs work—you rushed through the second verse, which compromised your articulation.

Troy:I used to play football. I was pretty good too, until I got injured. Now I just make sound effects and crude slang about it.

Troy:Astronomy? More like a-stro-NOMY. As in, it's not about me.

Annie:Troy, you need to quit the football team. It's dangerous and you're too smart for this.

Troy:Annie, I like football. Why do you care so much?

Annie:Because I've seen what happens to star athletes. They peak in high school and then their lives fall apart. Trust me, I know all about high school.

Troy:What do you mean you know about high school?

Annie:I was a mathlete! I had a gun in my locker!

Pierce:We need a mascot that's racially neutral. How about we use Dean Pelton as a color reference?

Dean:I'm standing right here.

Pierce:Exactly. Beige.

Pierce:We need a mascot that doesn't have a beak, or talons, or feathers of any kind. And it can't be bipedal. Or have a tail. Or live in trees.

Jeff:So what are we looking for here?

Pierce:A blob. A human-sized blob with no discernible features.

Dean Pelton:This is our color chart showing the extremely narrow range of 'human' colors.

Jeff:So we're designing a mascot that's offensive to no one, which means it'll be offensive to everyone. We're going to end up with a blue circle that apologizes for existing.

Pierce:Want some coffee, Dean?

Dean:Only if it's the color of Shirley's skin but darker, like if she got a spray tan from a bottle that was mostly iodine. Actually, no—the color of Troy's disappointment when he finds out we're out of those little chocolate chip cookies. Hmm, or maybe the shade of Jeff's soul. You know what? Just make it black.

Jeff:You're in love with Troy. It's obvious. You light up around him, you find excuses to be near him, and you've completely reorganized your entire life around his schedule.

Annie:That's not—I don't—

Jeff:And the worst part? He has no idea. Because you're so busy trying to be the perfect, put-together version of yourself that he'll actually notice, you've forgotten that people are attracted to authenticity, not performance.

Annie:Wow. Okay.

Jeff:So either tell him how you feel, or move on. But stop pretending this is about study groups and friendship, because we both know it isn't.

Jeff:Annie, your selflessness is really something. You're like a machine that converts oxygen into good intentions. It's actually kind of selfish how selfless you are—you're depriving the rest of us of the opportunity to be decent human beings.

Jeff:Yeah, well, caring is just a gateway drug to disappointment. You start by caring about one thing, then it's two things, then suddenly you're crying at insurance commercials and voting.

Pierce:Annie, I know what you're going through. I'm a woman too, emotionally.

Annie:Pierce, that's not how that works.

Pierce:My mother was a woman. I think I understand the struggle.

Pierce:Ladies, I just want you to know that I'm here for you. We're all in this together.

Pierce:I understand what it's like to menstruate. I have a very heavy flow, and I'm not ashamed to say it.

Pierce:Because that's what women do. They suffer for love. It's beautiful, really.

Britta:Look, I know Troy means a lot to you, but you can't let yourself fall apart like this. You need to focus on what you can control right now.

Britta:We did it! We actually bonded!

Annie:I know! This is amazing!

Britta:High five!

Annie:Yes!

Troy:I was trying to open a jar of pickles, and I twisted my ankle.

Troy:Actually, I did it on purpose. I didn't want to go to Shirley's pot luck.

Troy:You guys are terrible. I've seen better coordination at a DMV on a Monday morning.

Football Player:...yeah, that hurt.

Crowd:We are Greendale, hear us roar! We are Greendale, hear us roar!

Jeff:I'm actually starting to feel like this place isn't so bad. Maybe I can really make a difference here at Greendale.

Jeff:What could possibly go wrong?

Jeff:Ahhhhh!

Greendale Human Being Mascot:*attacks*

Dean Pelton:Oh, that's just our mascot working through some personal issues. He's fine.

Dean Pelton:The mascot can't speak, but that doesn't mean he can't communicate. I've become quite fluent in his language of interpretive dance and awkward gestures.

Jeff:Our mascot design is really coming together.

Dean:I'm so proud of what we've accomplished here.

Pierce:This is going to change everything for Greendale.

Jeff:You know what? We're so good at this, we should help other groups.

Dean:That's a wonderful idea! We could assist the Drama Department.

Pierce:And then the pottery club needs our expertise.

Jeff:Actually, I was thinking we'd help Derek specifically with his pottery wheel technique.

Dean:Or maybe just help Janet with her glazing method.

Pierce:Why don't we just follow Marcus around and critique his every move?
